big belly, bows, and baby showers

This weekend was so busy but very fun! On friday we went to our doctor appointment followed by a third trimester ultrasound. Everything is looking good, miss evynn just didn't want to show us her face! guess we'll have to wait and see it in person ;) then Friday afternoon Cody and I hung out with Claire while we waited for my parents and grandma to get into town. That evening we hung out at our house and got ready for the next day.

Saturday morning was my church shower. It was so sweet to see all the love poured out to us from our church family! We got all kinds of clothes and the hostess gift was a big rocker chair that I love!

Saturday afternoon my mom, sister in law, and I went into Lubbock and bought the side table, foot stool, lamps, etc. to finish off the nursery. Then we spent the evening grilling out with the boys and hanging around the house.

After church on Sunday I had my work shower (which I took no pictures of! argh!) But my sweet coworkers threw me a shower and Evynn and I got all kinds of clothes, custom burp clothes and outfits (who doesn't love those?) and a breast pump! We are officially all set!

We have the bags packed, car seat ready, diaper bag ready, everything set up... all we need now is a baby!

miss evynn's room

I love how the nursery turned out :) So warm, cozy and colorful! We are so thankful for all of the love that has been poured out from friends and family into this room, from the crib and rocker to books and homemade blankets.

My inspiration was simple yet pops of color and I think it turned out just that!
the garland is a felt ball garland I ordered from easy. It's simple but I love the pop of color it added. We got the rocking chair at our church shower today and found a pillow and storage/footstool to complete it all.
I printed off some wall prints and framed them, hot glued some flowers on an "E", and found 3 gold mirrors from.. family dollar of all places!

the changing table was my dresser all through college and I painted it a bright yellow mustard color. We got the rolling rack from ikea and it's used to store toys, headbands/shoes and blankets

We found the white (and pink) lamps at Homegoods, the purple globe on the shelf from Target and i added some plain blocks for decor alongside our "baby makes three" picture
ignore the blank picture frames for now ;) i plan on framing some maternity/ultrasound/newborn pictures soon! I put sophie on the shelf along with evynn's baby book that I'll fill out later

We are finally all set! All we need now is a baby ;)

35 weeks

Yesterday was Cody and I's first day off together in weeks! We had a relaxing but jam packed day. we started the day with breakfast, watched a documentary, and then put together our car seat/stroller and practiced putting the car seat in the car. It's starting to get so real!

after that we grilled out burgers/I made potato salad and then we went swimming! I also mentioned how good a snow cone sounded so we went and got one with a scoop of ice cream inside, so so good!

then last night we retook maternity pictures and then went to our usual picnic spot at ransom canyon and enjoyed a delicious picnic :)

such a fun, busy day! we are treasuring our last few weeks of just the two of us :)

in other news,
35 weeks!

How far along? 35 weeks
Total weight gain: my last appointment I was still at 20 pounds but I'm sure that's increased by now haha
Update from the doctor: nothing, I'll go back to the doctor and have a third trimester ultrasound this next week (so excited to see her face again! last time we saw her was over 4 months ago!).
Maternity clothes? of course. now that its swimsuit season I can wear normal bottoms with a maternity tankini top. I thought about getting a triple extra large bikini top and just baring it all but figured i should spare people from this big belly ;)
Stretch marks? gaw silly stretch marks, so tired of them. I haven't noticed any new ones but who knows at this point.
Best moment this week: having the first a day off with Cody! we had the best day ever (see above)
Movement: oh yes, she has a schedule I can't quite figure out yet. she'll be way hyper and move my belly all over the place and other times pretty still.
Food cravings: nothing in particular, but I still do love some ice!!
Miss Anything? sushi, lunch meat sandwiches on the reg, coffee on repeat...
Gender: sweet baby girl
Symptoms: braxton hicks contractions a few times daily, heartburn has faded (thank goodness), and definitely fatigue, Cody also says I breathe so heavy in my sleep haha
Belly Button in or out? Out and about for sure haha. everyone at work and patients notice it the second I enter the room
looking forward to? this week we have an ultrasound, dr. appointment, my family comes in to visit and i have my last two baby showers! such a fun weekend to look forward to!
Wedding rings on or off? On

34 weeks and counting

this week has finally felt like summer. We started off by setting up a pool for this preggo to cool off during the hot summer days. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE summertime and the heat but with an extra 20 pounds and attached heater, the days are definitely hotter.

Meanwhile,

we attended the send off for our baseball boys to go to state! They didn't win the state game but they made it farther than ever before, way to go wildcats!

I can sense that Cody and I will be making many of the 2-block trips to the snow cone stand this summer ;)

We have these gigantic dandelions in our backyard, who can help but blow them out?

and to conquer our baby to-do list:
Nursery
we still need a rocking chair/glider and side table, and a few accessories like a lamp/cute pillow/hamper/etc. but we’re so close!

Pack the bags
I’ve looked at so many different lists about what to pack, and it helps that I know what freebies we’ll get from the hospital that I can avoid packing. Now it’s just time to set aside bags for Cody and I… and to avoid wearing those comfy stretchy pants for the next few weeks ;) we also got Evynn's diaper bag in the mail yesterday so I can start packing her bag! now to pick a going home outfit for the sweet pea...

The big stuff
after a fiasco with Target, we finally got our stroller/car seat ordered so hopefully that'll get here asap! (I guess that is pretty important ;).  We have most other big things, lacking a rocking chair and breast pump but those will come together soon.

Prepare for postpartum
I have a list of “freezer friendly” meals I plan to make ahead and freeze for those nights that there’s no way Cody and I are up to cooking, and to avoid fast food for 3 months ;) So I’ll be a cooking machine in the coming weeks. I also am looking for the best nursing tank tops, belly wraps, etc.

I'm really trying to soak in these last few weeks, I know once she's here my first pregnancy will be over and nothing will quite compare to the excitement! I can't wait to hold her but i'm trying to enjoy these moments of just Cody and I while I can. I'm beyond thankful that the Lord has protected evynn and I to get to 34 weeks gestation!

floral baby shower

last night my college girl friends threw me an adorable floral themed baby shower for miss Evynn and I. It was so sweet and intimate! And let's be honest, all of us girls love a shower in the mix of our busy lives to find time to catch up with each other ;)

so many fun goodies for miss Evynn and her nursery!

now for pictures of me and the girls (+my 34 week belly!)

such a great time, thank you girls!
