24 years | photo an hour

today is my 24th birthday, and what a great birthday it has been! being a july baby myself, I can now empathize with my mom (and cody's mom) that it is hot.hot.hot when you're fully pregnant during the heat of the summer! cody made sure that my birthday was super special, even though we totally were hoping we would be meeting our daughter today (which it doesn't look that way, but hopefully soon!)

I had seen some blogs do a "photo an hour" to document the day and I figured, what better day to do this post than today?!

7am Cody got up and returned back to our room with flowers, chocolate truffles with candles in them, chocolate covered strawberries, a card, rose petals,  a gift card, and a bag of sonic ice. so sweet, he's the best and knows this preggo's heart so well ;)

8 am we headed into Lubbock with our bags for the day and sonic ice in hand

9am Cody enjoying the scenery at my dr. appt ;) see the 39 week post for an update, we're hoping for a baby anytime!

10am after the dr appt we ran errands-post office, oil change, and coffee stop at starbucks

11am I used my birthday money (thanks friends and family!) to get a much needed manicure and got my nails painted pretty pink for Evynn's arrival!

12pm then to the pool we went! we went to the leisure pool at Tech and lived like our college days, lounging by the pool, riding the lazy river and eating sandwiches from the snack bar

 1pm 

 we stayed at the pool for a few hours then I completely slacked on taking hourly pics, oops! after the pool we went to the mall and I got my hair cut and we walked around for a little bit

 5pm I said "it feels like 100 degrees!" and sure enough, it was 102 degrees today, whew!

6pm we met Aaron and Ashley for a birthday dinner and i ordered what else but spicy food,yum!

 7pm sweet ashley brought strawberry cupcakes, my favorite!

 8pm then we headed home and watched the beautiful sunset and clouds on our drive

now we're home watching friday night lights and relaxing! it's been a wonderful birthday, thank you everyone for the birthday wishes! I've always loved having a july birthday, this year it's extra special as we await our baby girl! 

39 weeks

I thought the very form fitted maternity dress would be a good idea but sheesh, after seeing these pictures I'm thinking it's a bit much ;) 

 How far along? 39 weeks

Total weight gain: 30 lbs total (good thing I’m having a baby this week! Eek!)

Update from the doctor: dilated to about a 3 on the inside, yay! We stripped my membranes and whew, that increased the discomfort for sure but as long as it’s doing something I’m okay with it :)

Maternity clothes? Of course! Between the hot weather, and already having lots of my lounge clothes  packed in the hospital bag, I don’t have a lot to wear to just relax around the house so I’ve been wearing Cody’s workout shorts, haha!

Stretch marks? No new ones. 

Best moment this week: today is my 24^th birthday, I worked my last shift yesterday so now I’m enjoying my 3 month break, and we could have a baby at any moment, everything is so exciting!

Movement: there’s a decrease in her movements due to her running out of room and I can notice recognizable sleep patterns. When she isn’t moving much, I think “if she was born, she would be taking a full on nap right now” and that’s reassuring that she’s just sleeping J when she is awake though, she still rocks and jumps my belly all over!

Food cravings: nothing specific really

Miss Anything? Not having to get up to see 4-5 times a night ;) I’m already thinking of how much I’m going to miss pregnancy and these belly movements though.

Symptoms: definitely being tired all the time! And contractions, getting more frequent and stronger by the day. The contractions are starting to wrap around to my back too.

Wedding rings on or off? On

Mood? We’re very ready to meet our sweet girl but very anxious about how labor/delivery will go and much everything is about to change! These last few weeks are so hard, I’m trying to relish every moment of my pregnancy and life with just Cody and I, yet we’re SO close to meeting our DAUGHTER! Ahh the anticipation! We know she’ll join us in as little as a week!

37 weeks | we're term!

We made it to 37 thanks, praise the Lord! Although we're not "term", we're okay letting her cook another week or two! We have everything ready now, just need a baby :)

 How far along? 37 weeks

Total weight gain: 27 pounds, quite a jump in weight from 33-36 weeks but today I dropped (a whopping) 1 pound from my last weeks appointment, ha!

Update from the doctor: My blood pressure is still low 96/50! I’m dilated to a big…1! We went for an ultrasound but she looked the wrong way so we didn’t get to see her face L They estimated her weight right now to be 5 lb 12 oz.

Maternity clothes? Exclusively maternity. 

Stretch marks? No new ones. 

Best moment this week: finishing our nursery and having my last two baby showers! My parents were here this weekend and they helped us finish the nursery and get our house summer ready.

Movement: yes! Boney prominences poking out the sides all the time!

Food cravings: nothing in particular actually, but I do have a decrease in appetite.

Miss Anything? Being able to move and sit up without grunting haha

Symptoms: extreme tiredness. I get home from work about 7:30pm, eat dinner and I’m out like a light by 9 and still feel pure exhausted the next day. Also, two weird things: my sweat has changed to a sweet smell and I’ve developed a sensitivity to dairy/anytime I eat fruit my tongue burns, haha.
