what a day in history! if you missed you're wish at 11:11am, don't worry there's still 11:11pm and then next year there's 12/12/12!! well, I haven't updated my blog in a month, oops! I've been putting it off till "something exciting" happens, but let's face it...  my life isn't that exciting! So here's a picture update over the last month:
Casi got engaged! Congrats Casi and Jordan!

fun times with my sisters!

halloween! ninja turtles :)

RSC pumpkin date party with kate :)

RSC fun with my big, Mandy!

I can't believe it's one week till thanksgiving, and a few away from Christmas break! Where did this semester go?! I have to say its been my favorite semester by far! God has definitely answered prayers about bringing good girlfriends into  my life! Between RSC and nursing school, I have gained so many best friends that I couldn't imagine life without!

I always like to read a book in my spare time, HA! So, single ladies, check out "Lady in Waiting" by jackie kendall and debbie jones!

happy fall y'all!

I can't believe it's October! This year has been flying by... due to RSC and week after week of tests for school but it's great, couldn't be a better year :)

The night before the same we had a girls night at kylies! Let me tell you, we can put away some food! Facemasks, chick flicks, and a relaxing night after school was perfect!

A little nursing school fun :)

A few weekends ago was pledge retreat! It was so much fun! We were all to dress "70's" but due to a time crunch I couldn't find anything fitting so I decided to go with a "70's mom" vibe. Kitty Forman, anyone?! Turns out the theme was fitting because we were going rolling skating! The next day we all did Race for the Cure and then spent the rest of the day/night
bonding with my sisters. Such a wonderful pledge retreat!

when does life slow down?!

School has kept me more than busy this past week. Between my first checkpoint and the 3 exams/group project thats going on this week, I am surely feeling the effects of nursing school. So, naturally I'm spending my precious time blogging.

A few weeks ago, I saw some lace shorts on pinterest and my sweet roomie chelsea sewed some up for me!

They were a huge hit!

Also, my parents came to see me this weekend! I haven't seen them since August and probably won't again until November. We spent the weekend stocking me up on fall clothes, candles, and food. Also, my dad hung some pictures since I'm obviously not able to hang things straight. They both say I need a stud finder (for different reasons) HA.HA. Little improvements are being made to my room then I'll upload a new pic!

I love giving little "gifts" anytime I can. So, what better time than our first nursing school round of tests?! Here's the goody bags I made our little gang :)

lately

First off, every time I plan on updating my blog, I forget my password. I mean every time. I try to make ones easy to remember then it says "too weak".. ugh!

lately:
last week mainly consisted of school and RSC rush events! Friday was barn dance and then the rest of the weekend I made the most of being lazy... I mean laying in bed ALLDAY lazy.

In other news: I am now a proud member of the '11 Nu pledge class of Raider Sisters for Christ!
For those who don't know, I rushed last year and they did the casting lots method and in the end, I didn't get my name drawn. It was a tough year, especially living with 3 girls in RSC. In the end, I decided to rush again, and I am very glad I decided to. I have such a hard time understanding God's timing but I can see that I have been placed in such a perfect pledge class this year! love my new sissies!
my "roomies" and I are all finally sistas!

so excited!

ME!!

I'll start by uploading a few select pictures from Foundation (since that's what my last post was about)

The lovely Bess and I on the first day, reppin' our orange!

wonderful orange team flag! Thanks, Aaron!

I wanted an orange backpack but i couldn't find one, so I duct taped a cheap "Cars" backpack I got at goodwill!

Tacky prom!

Redneck Christmas!

Other than that, school has just been getting started! This will be the first "real week" of nursing school according to our schedule (minus the fact that we don't have school today). It hasn't been that bad yet, so far just some reading and quizzes but this week starts the early mornings on Fridays! Not much has been going on other than school, I'm ready to get the year started though! pinterest keeps giving me so many ideas for fall decorations, party planning, recipes and more that gets me excited for this fall! yipee!

Here's some more pictures of "lately":
back to school partay at morgan, claire, alyssa, brooke, and belindas! (i need to come up with a name for that house instead of listing of who lives there everytime!)

first day of school pics with Chelsea!

italian dinner by the one and only Garrett Menichini!

white skinny jeans are obv. in style!

first football game of the year (vs. Texas State, which we won 50-10!)

FOUNDATION (post #1)

I say post #1 because i'm sure I'll post pictures once more are uploaded :). First off, here's the video:

Anyways, Foundation was AH-MAZ-ING! I loved loved my small group girls and all of the campers I met and of course THE STAFF! I'm so sad that we won't be seeing each other every Sunday anymore..

The retreat really got me thinking about spiritual growth and of course everything has been laid into place since I got home yesterday. I picked back up in "Crazy Love" by Francis Chan today and it has really convicted me/answered my exact questions! Here's some of my recent points:

"just like when you are hungry but nothing sounds good, you still eat because you know if you don't eat you will die. This is just as spiritual growth should be, it should be continuous so that it does not die" The wonderful Bess Caldwell told me this the other night and it really stuck with me. It also goes along with this quote from Crazy Love, "If life is a river, then pursuing Christ requires swimming upstream. When we stop swimming, or actively following Him, we automatically begin to be swept downstream." It's so important to know that there's never time to "take a break". Not during summer break, winter break, when we're tired, NEVER.

Don't give God the leftovers. It's so easy to say a quick little prayer right before bed when things start to not make sense anyways, rather than take time out of the day to really pray. Or to be on a "spiritual high" when it's good timing. We need to remember that God is so worth all of our time and everything about everyday should be about Him.

We are called to LOVE.  Love one another, Love God, and even love our enemies (Matthew 5:43-45). In Crazy Love, I was just reading this little "test". If we (followers of Christ) are to demonstrate love... replace the word "love" with your name in verses 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. RIIIIGHT.

"              is patient,                is kind.               does not envy,               does not boast,              is not proud.              is not rude,              is not self-seeking,              is not easily angered,              keeps no record of wrongs.               does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth..."

The point of this and my whole day is that I need to focus on focusing on God 24/7. God designed everyone for a specific purpose and we should aspire to give him full attention. Just think, if something happened today, what have you been investing your time in?

all moved in!

This past week I had been getting everything ready to head back to school! Cody and Stephanie came home from their honeymoon and stayed a few days with us then we  all left going opposite ways on Saturday. It was so overwhelming to see my new TINY room with so much stuff that needed a place to go. Finally, I managed to get it all put together. I still have a few last minute touches: hanging pictures, organizing wired things, etc. Eventually it'll looked finished!

My dad built me an armoir because I had such a shortage of space in my room! Here's some pictures of us building it:

and the final product:

Here's the full room:

and a few little touches that I added, thanks pinterest for the ideas!

i'm sure it'll become more "homey" over time and once I get everything adjusted!
