profile silhouette art

I love that I'm able to do crafts all the day for a particular purpose, my wedding! Tonight I made some profile silhouette paintings that will be framed and used as decor at the wedding.
first, I took a profile picture of Cody and uploaded it to my computer. I then opened it in word and used the picture format tool to remove the background and it left this ^^. then, I washed it out so it would print really lightly (no need to use the ink) and printed it out. I enlarged it too so that it would take up a good amount of an 8x10 picture frame.

i had some extra burlap leftover, some cardboard boxes from moving, and used a paintbursh and black paint. I cut out the heads and taped them to the burlap to hold in place.

I then painted the edges of the cutout, allowing it to get on the burlap some.
once I removed the paper, I was left with this outline, which made painting it super easy. I then just painted the inside!

I did the same thing with my own picture.

my "vacation"

I went home for 10 days between my graduation and yesterday (just in time to move). In that time I got a TON of wedding planning done, attended a wedding, had a graduation party, got a sewing machine, started my first sewing project, and got organized on everything thats coming up soon! I went thrifting last weekend and I was able to get so so many decorations for the wedding that I'm revamping into the style I'm going for! so, so excited to see it all come together!

We drove back to Lubbock yesterday and immediately started packing up my entire process. Now, today is moving day into my new apartment.... for the next 4 and a half months then i'll do it all again, but into the apartment where Cody and I will be married!
