twenty thrive

Cody and I's birthdays are 13 days apart so it was easy to combine our birthdays for a busy 2 weeks of celebrations!

My birthday was on the 17th: Cody woke me up with breakfast in bed and then went to work while I enjoyed my morning coffee time. He then came home and took me to lunch after giving me my present. He got me the naked 2 eyeshadow I've been wanting for awhile, and made 23 "cod pons"-coupons for everyday things I can redeem them for! I spent the afternoon hanging out with girlfriends then Cody and I got an ice cream cake made for my birthday. It was a great day celebrating 23!

this past weekend we had our families come in to celebrate our birthdays with us. Friday we spent the afternoon shopping and running around. Saturday morning Cody made us breakfast, yum! We spent the afternoon shopping, and I cut a whopping 4-5 inches off my hair!

We came back home to get ready for our birthday dinner. in the mean time, my mom enjoyed one of my homeade lemon/raspberry popsicles :) We started getting watermelon ready and making our shrimp boil.

after eating our weight in shrimp, boil, corn and watermelon we brought on leftover sparklers from the 4th! Cody is such a pyromaniac and loved getting to light things on fire, haha!

Sunday was a big day for us also! We both had an emotional experience when we were younger and believed we accepted Christ, and followed up by being baptized. but, it wasn't until college that we were truly saved. our lives have drastically changed since that decision our freshman years but we had yet to be baptized in a believers baptism. after much talk about how to explain this to our church, we were able to be baptized when our families were here. Cody was baptized by our pastor, and then Cody baptized me. It was very sweet and a great moment to show our obedience to our Lord.

today is officially Cody's 25th birthday, but we celebrated yesterday. He opened his presents as we were getting ready for dinner.
I got cody a few shirts, a razor and stuff from Dollar Shave Club, and a letter of encouragement from his favorite pastor.

Cody is a health nut and always wants the healthier option if possible. He didn't want a regular cake, just fruit, so I made him a "fruit cake".

compare to my ice cream cake....

happy 25th birthday, husband!

weddings galore

a few weeks ago (in fact, in the midst of youth camp) my beautiful friend Ashley got married! We've looked forward to this day for years and even more so during her engagement over the last months. She had the most beautiful wedding that perfectly reflected her at a new, local venue here in west texas. We had so much fun at her rehearsal dinner followed by staying up eating tons of junk food with about 11 of us college girlfriends. The wedding day was so relaxed and we all just enjoyed hanging out together and getting everyone together. it was the absolute perfect day!!

here is the bride and I

and let's talk about how perfect our bridesmaid gifts are!! custom embroidered purses!

we were back at it again this past week for kate's big day! Cody and I left Lubbock Thursday morning and hit the road. Road trips from west texas are always so funny.... wind mills EVERYWHERE. We arrived to Kerrville about 4:00pm which was perfect timing, the girls were just arriving at the river to float it.

that evening we went to a family friend's ranch where we got ready and enjoyed dinner and dessert

on friday we enjoyed a wonderful brunch and then wore our matching tank tops to get our nails done then relaxed at the site of the wedding

 ..and then the rehearsal dinner...

the wedding morning we started with coffee and donuts then got busy decorating and moving benches to prepare for the wedding. when we started getting ready, kate gave us these precious floral robes to wear!

and then the actual wedding... kate looked gorgeous in her antique shop find and floral crown. it was a beautiful wedding! unfortunately, cody and I had to head back to Lubbock immediately after pictures because Sunday is his biggest work day. So glad we could be apart of the day though!
