life lately

January-February has been full of the longest lingering cold to ever hit a household. Which meant a very fussy baby, lots of cuddles, and the humidifier on high. Evynn has really start enjoying all that her play room has to offer, she loves sitting at her table to color, "cook" in her kitchen, and read books.

We made the trip to Midland one Saturday to see Cody and Stephanie and my parents, who were visiting. We loved our short visit, but did I mention how fussy Ev has been? Yikes. It was a challenging day for Cody and I.

Ev loves eating snacks like bananas and apples by the whole fruit vs. having it sliced up. Its fine by me and she'll happily walk around feeding herself a snack.

Two weeks ago, Cody had a weekend of youth DNOW planned and I had the IF:Gathering in Austin , Texas. My parents helped us times a thousand by coming and caring for Evynn all weekend so I could be gone and Cody would be worry free. Not to mention my dad (papa) fixed everything that needed fixing at our house and helped get our nursery more ready. I got so many updates throughout the weekend but I couldn't help but be "that mom" texting my own mom "is she in bed yet? did she drink enough water today?" and so on. Oops!

If:Gathering is a world wide conference the first weekend in February. It's for women of all ages in the Christian world who want to learn more about Jesus and challenge themselves to make disciples. This years theme was Acts 2-making disciples and it was the perfect refresher. The live conference is in Austin, tx but can be simulcasted to any home/church/anywhere you want! 2500 If:locals took place! I had hosted an IF:local before which was wonderful but being at the live venue just really topped it off.

Ashley, Kate, and I made the road trip to ATX that friday and made it to the venue just in time for opening. We really anticipated more wiggle room in our schedule, so when the line started moving and we had not eaten dinner we were little stressed. After slamming down some dinner, Morgan had us seats saved inside (and great seats at that!)

The conference really has the same "style" that me and my best friends do so it was so fitting for us. There was a Photo Booth, shops selling the most adorable jewelry, and they gave us goody bags with journals for the event. The "admission bracelet" to keep track of who is coming to the conference was made by Noonday and so perfect to support a great business!

the four of us cried, prayed, and felt very refreshed after the two day conference. We went to dinner afterwards to discuss what all we learned. It was a great weekend to catch up with best friends as well!

I got back home on Sunday afternoon and Cody and I recapped our weekend (we didn't even talk all weekend!). Unfortunately I completely missed seeing my parents, but they left some evidence of their stay and marked off my to-do on the counter ;)

Valentines Day was yesterday and we started the morning with a very yellow breakfast haha. Eggs, mango, and an orange/banana smoothie! Then Ev and I made an escape to pick up some chocolate covered strawberries and make a card for dada ;) We made a surprise visit to his office to deliver our treats. Then Ev gave me a wonderful gift, by taking a 3 hour nap. Yes!

We ate dinner last night then I fell asleep on the couch by 8pm. ha! Happy Valentines Day!
