twenty thrive

Cody and I's birthdays are 13 days apart so it was easy to combine our birthdays for a busy 2 weeks of celebrations!

My birthday was on the 17th: Cody woke me up with breakfast in bed and then went to work while I enjoyed my morning coffee time. He then came home and took me to lunch after giving me my present. He got me the naked 2 eyeshadow I've been wanting for awhile, and made 23 "cod pons"-coupons for everyday things I can redeem them for! I spent the afternoon hanging out with girlfriends then Cody and I got an ice cream cake made for my birthday. It was a great day celebrating 23!

this past weekend we had our families come in to celebrate our birthdays with us. Friday we spent the afternoon shopping and running around. Saturday morning Cody made us breakfast, yum! We spent the afternoon shopping, and I cut a whopping 4-5 inches off my hair!

We came back home to get ready for our birthday dinner. in the mean time, my mom enjoyed one of my homeade lemon/raspberry popsicles :) We started getting watermelon ready and making our shrimp boil.

after eating our weight in shrimp, boil, corn and watermelon we brought on leftover sparklers from the 4th! Cody is such a pyromaniac and loved getting to light things on fire, haha!

Sunday was a big day for us also! We both had an emotional experience when we were younger and believed we accepted Christ, and followed up by being baptized. but, it wasn't until college that we were truly saved. our lives have drastically changed since that decision our freshman years but we had yet to be baptized in a believers baptism. after much talk about how to explain this to our church, we were able to be baptized when our families were here. Cody was baptized by our pastor, and then Cody baptized me. It was very sweet and a great moment to show our obedience to our Lord.

today is officially Cody's 25th birthday, but we celebrated yesterday. He opened his presents as we were getting ready for dinner.
I got cody a few shirts, a razor and stuff from Dollar Shave Club, and a letter of encouragement from his favorite pastor.

Cody is a health nut and always wants the healthier option if possible. He didn't want a regular cake, just fruit, so I made him a "fruit cake".

compare to my ice cream cake....

happy 25th birthday, husband!
