an a(maize)ing weekend

this was just the best weekend.. lots of family, fun, and fall-ness!

it started on Thursday. Evynn and I matched (which is just one perk of having a daughter, am I right?) in eyelid sleeve white shirts from old navy.

My parents and I arrived that afternoon. Cody and I decided to take advantage of my parents weekend visit and go on our first date since July 22nd! While I was at home visiting with my parents and Cody was at work, the doorbell rang and there was a beautiful fall orange rose arrangement from my husband. Someone was going big on date night ;) Once he got home from work we headed to Lubbock and went to Hyashi for sushi (the first thing I wanted after being pregnant) then the pie bar for dessert. We missed our girl very much but it was great to enjoy time together without worrying about her next feeding or her getting fussy.

Friday morning we woke up and took our time getting ready. we headed to lubbock and ran a few errands. and I traded in my iPhone 4 (that i've had for 5 years!) for an iPhone 6s! yessss!!

I really wanted to do something fun this weekend with my parents in town and i love all things fall, so i thought visiting the corn maze would be a fun activity. We had a lot of fun, may have gotten little lost, and enjoyed the fall atmosphere.

Saturday morning I went to Lubbock to a RSC alumni brunch. RSC is a christian sorority that I was in in college and loved the friendships and experience I had through it. It was so great to see my college friends and get some good laughs in!

once I got home it was time for the Tech game! Although we lost, it was fun to watch.

(^too busy watching the game to do tummy time ;))

we made chili and had pineapple upside cake for my dads birthday!

Cody and I are always especially thankful for family at around 10pm ;) Evynn is particularly picky when it comes to laying down for bed. So after several attempts at bedtime last night I handed her off to my parents (who were still up watching the A&M game) and headed to bed for some rest. score!

This morning we went to church, then to Lubbock for lunch (and to see Claire!) then back for a church open house/dessert party. Now we're enjoying this cold, rainy fall weather, candles lit and a movie on.
