and then there were two... Stephanie Mygrants that is!

It's official! Cody and Stephanie are married so I now have a sister (in-law) and there are two Stephanie Mygrants! It's been a whirlwind weekend but everything went perfect!

Friday: we hosted the rehearsal dinner at our house and had a "luau" theme since we were by the pool and they're at the beach for their honeymoon! I had so many little detail ideas to decorate for the dinner but the closer it got, the hotter it was outside leaving me no desire to add unnecessary touches. So, we all went to the church and practiced for the next day then back to our house. We added ice to the pool and ate bbq and played water volleyball till 11 or so!

Also, I had made wire hangers for all of the girls (me, Stephanie, Doris, Sandy, Brandi, Rachel, Staci, and Gigi) earlier in the summer. I made Stephanie's say "Mrs. Mygrant". We all hung our dresses on the hangers before we got ready. They weren't very hard to make and I think they turned out great!

Saturday: the bridal party and moms headed to a house at the lake for a bridal brunch hosted by some women at the church. Right after that we headed to the View to get hair and makeup done! and after that we were off to the church to get ready! Four O'clock came fast! The ceremony was beautiful and there was  a great turnout. Sadly, not everyone at the ceremony went to the reception so we didn't even get to see who all was there because we were busy taking pictures. We headed to the reception and had a blast until 8:30. It was great to see everyone and have a chance to mingle. Stephanie threw the bouquet and it grazed by hand so I claimed it :) (I may have a vertical advantage!). Cody and Stephanie were taken back to the house to change and get into Cody's car and off they went!

Today has been so relaxing now that everything is done! We swam all day and hung out, and the Jessens came over too and everyone feels at ease now!

Crazy week!

Last weekend we moved my stuff to Lubbock. I knew my room was small, but once we moved everything in, I had to brainstorm on some fast ways to store ALL my stuff, and I have ALOT! We lifted my bed for under-bed storage, got bins for under the dresser, and we're building an armoire for more storage in my room. I LOVE my room so far, but I won't take/post pictures until it's complete. We left my room in Lubbock piled up with things that didn't have a place to go yet, so I have a lot of organizing ahead of me. It was sad to say goodbye to 818 (my apartment this past year), lots of memories and good times took place there. But, i've always wanted a house... with wood floors and walls I can paint, and that's just what I got :) I'll miss the late-night laughs with the former roomies, but I'll still get to see them from time to time! Any-who, school shopping this year means scrubs, white leather tennis shoes, and a pile of textbooks (that grows daily, btw). So, this weekend is my brothers wedding. Then next week we can get my last minute things ready to head back to school! Cody and Steph will return from St. Lucia next Thursday night and so I think I'll wait to see them before I head out next Saturday. Then a few days of Foundation preparation, then FOUNDATION RETREAT! and a week later, school begins. It's crazy to think that I won't know my next visit home or when my parents will visit, how sad!

I have a few crafts up my sleeve, but some are surprises so I can't reveal until after Friday :)

However, I've been looking for a good nude pink nail polish for awhile now. And I keep getting colors that are too pink, too white, or too yellow. Finally I found the one! Sally Hansen's "petal pusher"

That's all for now, I'll update this weekend about the wedding!!

furniture re-do!

I've been wanting to buy some furniture and re-do it for my room in my new house at school! It took awhile to finally find what I wanted, but I scored both the desk and dresser at the Salvation Army store for a reasonable price. I painted them to match the color of my painted room and added cute knobs for the desk! I'm very happy with the turnout!

Mom and I-the hosts!

Mom and the two Stephanie's

This past weekend was the bridal shower/bachelorette party. Lately, I've been obsessed with party planning so I'm glad I got to make this my first planning experience. The bridal shower was held at Woodlawn Country Club on Saturday, July 23rd at 11-1. Around 30 people came, so it was a good turn out! I love the idea of a dessert table, so I made sure to incorporate that in. Mom and I found alot of pink candy like jelly beans, marshmellows, flavored popcorn, etc. I also had seen an idea for "tips for marriage" to write them on a seashell and place them in the sand. Since Cody and Stephanie are going to the beach for the honeymoon, i thought it would be a cute idea! I also made centerpieces for the tables by placing a few flowers in some mason jars. Towards the end of the shower, Cody surprised Steph with 2 dozen roses, aw!

Later that afternoon Stephanie, some of her friends and I headed up to Choctaw casino for the bachelorette party. Gigi had a great set up! Stephanie opened presents, then we played a "who knows Cody and Stephanie quiz" (which i got 14/15 correct!), then we swam and spent the rest of the night in the casino. Sadly, I am not good at slot machines..

Also, for some reason the pictures i have on my computer won't show up so It's hard to upload pictures (which is why i stole these from Stephanie's blog)

into the TWENTIES!

well, i'm officially twenty years old! I still feel I should be saying "oh, i'm 18" for some reason! Anyways, i've barely been home from camp for 2 weeks now and it's already been crazy! I went to Lubbock last thursday for nursing school orientation. Let me tell you, it's going to be a busy 2 years! I've luckily already had that mindset, so I'm ready. And, I luckily have a good group of friends going through school with. Orientation was on Friday, then I took advantage of Lubbock's awesome sales going on that weekend. Saturday morning I left early to head back to Sherman. Soon after arriving I met friends out at the lake for some fun!
Saturday night, I headed home to wake up with my family on my birthday :). I went to church on Sunday morning then ran some errands with my mom. That afternoon I met up with the girls at City Limits and watched the US Women's Soccer game. After that I came home and my family came over for burgers and cake! I opened my presents and got the macbook pro that I asked for :).

a speedy summer!

I can't believe I'll be leaving for fall in exactly one month. This summer is jam packed with "to-do" lists and trying to keep up with everything. I feel like I haven't even enjoyed the pool or lake much at all. Last weekend we moved Cody's things to him and Stephanie's house in Houston. It's a very cute house and I think they did great picking it out. Tomorrow I'm leaving for orientation for nursing school and I'm going to paint my room in the house while I'm there! Then, Sunday is my 20th birthday! I'm working on my list of "20 things to do while I'm 20". In the following weeks I have the bridal shower/bachelorette party.. moving my things to Lubbock... Cody's wedding... then back to school for the fall! I can't believe summer has flown by that fast. Unfortunately, I haven't taken nearly any pictures this summer, but hopefully I can in the next few weeks!

Here's a few summer essentials I love:
Avocados! I eat them by themselves, as a dip, pretty much anyway i can!

Chacos! My 2 pairs were so useful spending 6 weeks on the river but i still wear them daily. They're good for everyday use to walk and shop but also if you're like me and hate touching the bottom of the lake, river, etc.

Camelbak bottle! I got this recently and find myself drinking so much more water when it's on hand.
I love this sunscreen! It gives alittle shimmer so it makes everyone look better out in the sun!

That's all for now!

catching up on life!

Whew! I'm finally home after being at camp for 6 weeks! It was a blast but it's good to be home. I have  a few list of things to do this summer in order to get me ready for school, new house, etc. So I've been trying to get everything back to normal over the past few days.

I turn 20 in 12 days! I can't believe it! I decided to make a list of "20 things to do while I'm 20" so I've been brainstorming about that!

I don't have a whole lot to say but I'll include some recent pictures:
